If you're familiar with the northern Oregon Coast and our local outdoor activities, you'll know we have both wonderful rivers, lakes and streams and the incredible Pacific Ocean right out our back door. While during Free Fishing Day in Oregon you don't need a license or tag to fish, crab, or clam anywhere in Oregon that is open to fishing, crabbing, and clamming, all other rules and regulations will still apply. As usual, educate yourself before you go.

When are the Free Fishing Days in Oregon?

2018 Oregon Free Fishing Days:

Feb. 17 - 18, President’s Day Weekend June 2 - 3 Sept. 1 - 2, Labor Day Weekend Nov. 23 - 24, Thanksgiving Weekend

If you're new to fishing in Oregon, you might save the date for the June 2 - 3 event. It's the original Free Fishing Weekend, and you'll find that during this weekend the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and sponsoring partners hold free fishing events around Oregon. At most events you'll find both the equipment and instruction to get you started on your fishing adventure.

On the north Oregon Coast, the following two Free Fishing Weekend clinics will be held on June 2.

For the June season you'll find freshwater fishing is king. Trout tends to be plentiful, and the traditional stocking from the hatcheries makes the numbers even greater.
