Enjoy Incredible Haystack Hill State Park Views
What do you do after Cannon Beach shopping, eating, and beach combing? Want to get away from the crowds of Cannon Beach vacation goers? Looking for an easy Cannon Beach hike?
Don't miss out on a hike through Haystack Hill State Park, one of the fun, accessible Oregon Coast hikes - this one in the city of Cannon Beach!
Haystack Hill State Park is a little known and casual state park located just south of the downtown Cannon Beach area. The easy, well-travelled path approaches from the north leading to the park's summit.
You'll find views through the trees at two different summit areas. The west summit has the best view of Haystack Rock and the other Cannon Beach rock formations. The east summit area has a view of Angora Peak and other nearby peaks.
The path winds through north coast towering spruce and fir and undergrowth of ferns and salal. A truly spectacular Cannon Beach hike!
Manzanita Beach Life Insiders Tip: The east side of the park sometimes get the noise of traffic from the highway. The western side is more peaceful, accompanied by the sound of the Pacific. Keep an eye out for a glimpse of the Roosevelt elk herd that roams the area.
Directions to Haystack Hill State Park: Southbound on Hwy 101 take the second exit for Cannon Beach onto Sunset Way. Take the first left to Spruce Street. You'll find parking between Ross Lane and East Hills Lane. After parking, walk south on Spruce Street to the marked path.
