Golfing in Manzanita Oregon

Well, we have to confess. There's only one Manzanita golf course, Manzanita Links. We feel lucky to have this 2,192 yard, par 32, 9 hole course situated on a coastal hillside facing the sparkling Pacific Ocean on the Oregon coast.
As golfing isn't our forte, we've found some reviews about the Manzanita Golf Course from experienced players:

This course is a gem...new greenskeeper has really improved the greens and fairways. Play it each time we come to the beach; more challenging than its length would indicate. The air is so dense at the beach that the ball just doesn't fly like it does any where else. Plus, tight fairways demand an accurate tee shot. FUN! Henry B., oregongolf.com
No carts. 9-hole layout has change of elevation and great views, but is also challenging if you don't hit the fairway as Heyerdahl guarded by trees. Course is short (par 33-66), but the tee shot on #5 is worth the experience. Scott N., tripadvisor.com

The course is lined with stately coastal pine and fir evergreens, lush fairways, and well-tended greens. Word on the street that hole number 5 is notable. Teeing off at 80' above the long fairway, it offers a fantastic view of the hole. At a mere 280 yard from the back tees, you'll find a great chance for an eagle.
The Manzanita Links course offers challenging play for all skill levels. You'll also find owner and manager Steve Erickson and his helpful staff glad to provide some insider tips for playing a great game.
You'll also find a snack shop with a limited menu and a pro shop with both apparel and equipment. The course is open year round with the driving range is open May through September. If you're playing on weekends or the summer season, reservations are highly suggested. Be sure to call ahead and with plenty of notice.
Best of all, it's a short distance from our beachfront Manzanita rentals!
Tee times may be made up to two weeks in advance.

Bay Breeze Golf Course & Driving Range, 2325 Latimer Road North, Tillamook, OR (503) 842-1166
Bay Breeze Golf Course and Driving Range offer what they term "a challenging 9 hold executive style golf course, an 18 hole grass putting course, and a covered driving range." This course features 1,061 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 31 with a 30.0 course rating and a 113 slope rating.

With the majestic Coastal Range to the east and the Tillamook Bay to the west, you'll also find Bay Breeze conveniently located across from the world-famous Tillamook Cheese Factory!
Alderbrook Golf Course, 7300 Alderbrook Rd., Tillamook, OR 97141 (503) 842-2767
In 1924, Alderbrook Golf Course was created on what used to be 95 acres of dairy farmland, making it one of the oldest golf courses on the Oregon Coast. This 18 hole course features 6,070 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . This course has a rating of 66.8 and a slope rating of 105.

With a traditional feel and perfect upgrades, this course offers incredible views of the coastal range and the charm of local natural springs. You'll find Alderbrook Golf Course challenging enough for advanced players but also fun for newer golfers.
The first nine holes underwent a recent renovation, offering something for everyone.
Later, you encounter the infamous 15th hole. With an extremely steep incline, this will offer a challenge to most. Next you'll find at the 16th hole spectacular vistas of the Tillamook Valley.

The public 9 hole Seaside Golf Course features 2,593 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 35 . This course has a rating of 32.4 and a 104 slope rating.

A 9 hole course very close to town. Friendly staff but they do double duty in the restaurant/ bar so you might have to track them down. No driving range. First tee has homes on one side but after that you are away from everything. Nice walk and there was a river/creek in places. Thick grass on edge of fairways. Weekday am and we were alone and thoroughly enjoyed our game. Would come back if we were in the area. I'm guessing it could be slow paced on a busy summer or weekend day. nrretreat, tripadvisor.com

The 9 hole Highland Golf Club is the north Oregon coast's only ocean view golf course. Featuring 1,776 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 31, it has a 29.5 course rating and a 94 slope rating.
Join them for "Thank You Thursdays" where active military, teachers, fire fighters, police personnel and public city employees play 9 holes for only $12.

Gearhart Golf Links is a resort style golf course with 18 holes of scenic golf located in the beachside town of Gearhart on the north Oregon coast. The course is both membership and open to the public.
The 18 hole Gearhart Golf Links features 6,089 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . It has a 67.0 course rating and a 112 slope rating on other grass.

In 1891, before any formal golf course existed west of the Mississippi River, a clatch of homesick Scotsmen confounded the locals by burying tin cans into the dunes and then knocking balls with sticks until they dropped into the cans. Golfing in Astoria Oregon

The Lewis & Clark Golf and RV Park is the regulation length 2,738 yards, and is a 9 Hole, Par 36 course. Even better, this course uses only organic products and no chemicals. Both power and pull carts available.
