If you talk to any local, they’ll quickly tell you that some places are better for pictures of the coast than others. Therefore, we put together a list of 6 best picture perfect spots for your next Oregon Coast vacation.

1. Astoria Megler Bridge


The Astoria Megler Bridge is a whopping four miles long! The iconic Astoria Megler Bridge connects Astoria, Oregon to Megler, Washington. While you cannot walk on the bridge, taking photos in front of the bridge or from local neighborhoods will give you a great background for your Oregon Coast images.


One day a year the bridge hosts a 10k Great Columbia Crossing run/walk across the bridge. If you’re looking for one-of-a-kind pictures of you walking on the bridge, then check out this event.



2. Cannon Beach Haystack Rock


Cannon Beach Haystack Rock is one of the most iconic places on the Oregon Coast. Just as the name entails the Haystack Rock is… a rock. Although, not just any rock, the Haystack Rock is part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge and is a sate protected marine environment.


On days with blue skies, you’ll an amazing contrast between the color of the water and the rock formation in the Oregon Coast pictures you take.



3. Hug Point State Park near Arch Cape


Hug Point State Park offers a beach view that is accompanied by forested picnic areas. Whether you want pictures of the coast, of the trees, or of a sunset Hug Point is a great option.


This area is both scenic and historic. Hug Point got its name from when it was one of the first roads on the Oregon Coast. Old stagecoaches would need to hug around the point in order for the stagecoach to not fall off the road.



4. Shorts Sand Beach - Oswald West State Park


If you’re looking to take pictures of Oregon – true Oregon – then you must take pictures of the coast! Check out Shorts Sand Beach if you want pictures of the Oregon Coast that mixes water and vegetation.


Short Sand Beach is known for surfing and boogie boarding so make sure you get some action shots while you’re there.



5. View of Manzanita Beach from Neahkahnie Mountain


Are you a hiker? If you enjoy hiking, then we encourage you to put Neahkahnie Mountain on your list.


When hiking you come up on an overlook that features a panoramic view of Oregon that is sure to be one of your favorite Oregon Coast pics.



6. Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area in Pacific City


Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area is located in Pacific City and has lots to offer: hiking, wildlife, beach area, fishing and picture perfect viewpoints. From the unique dory fishing boats that launch from the beach in the early morning to the other famous Haystack rock, Pacific City has it all for the perfect photo of the coast.
