Best North Oregon Coast Wineries
Surely you've heard about our incredible Oregon wineries? Are you on the hunt for the fabled best Oregon pinot noir?
Guests at our oceanfront Manzanita Rentals often ask about the best northern Oregon Coast wineries.
You've come to the right place. I grew up in the Willamette Valley as it was just becoming a winery destination. Tualatin Vineyards was our local favourite, as it was one of the first large vineyards in the Willamette Valley.
Laurel's Wine Shop in Cannon Beach was the only serious Oregon wine shop for the longest time.
Now that the Oregon wine industry has exploded, there are many more options on the northern Oregon Coast for good wine. And more costal Oregon wineries than ever before!
Nehalem Bay Winery is a destination spot for northern Oregon Coast visitors. They're known for their sweeter wines, such as berry specialties and rieslings.
Manzanita Winery. Mark Proden, owner and winemaker, creates everything from Passionfruit wine to Chardonnays, Cabernets and Malbecs.
Westport Winery Seaside and Westport Winery Tasting at Cannon Beach crafts various fruit blends, in addition to Reislings and Syrahs.
Puffins Wine in Cannon Beach specializes in Award Winning Pinot Gris.
Naked Winery Seaside carries more traditional wines in their Seaside Tasting Room.
Buddha Kat Tasting Room Seaside runs towards the more fruit blends.
Shallon Winery in Astoria creates the gamete of wines, including their specialty, Chocolate Oregon Wine.
You can also find various wonderful Oregon wines at the following:
Astoria - The Cellar on 10th; WineKraft WineBar
Seaside - Wine and Beer Haus
Cannon Beach - The Wine Shack; Laurel's Wine Shop
Manzanita - Dixie's Vino
Tillamook - Blue Heron French Cheese Company
You'll also find the local coastal grocery stores have terrific selections of some of the best Oregon vineyards.
Or save the date for some of the fun Oregon wine festivals! Visitors to the coast in April can take part in the Astoria Warrenton Crab, Seafood and Wine Festival. February vacationers can take part in the Newport Seafood and Wine Festival, the largest winter festival in Oregon.
Or plan a tour of select nearby Oregon wineries when visiting the coast. Check with Cordilleran Tours and plan a custom tour through Oregon wine country. We suggest the Small Wineries of the Willamette Valley tour, and have them pick up your group in Banks Oregon rather than Portland. It's a longer drive, but worth the trip!
Many of our guests ask what's the best time to visit Oregon wine country? Spring is wonderful, and the summer tourist season hasn't started up. Fall and winter tend to be hard working seasons at wineries, but they still typically have their tasting rooms open. One of our very favorite times to visit is Thanksgiving weekend, when many wonderful wineries that are typically closed to the public throw open their doors to visitors.
Enjoy tasting the offerings of our Oregon Coast wineries ~
